Fanfix Acquires Sunroom - A Women-Led Creator Platform Championing Inclusivity
LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESS Newswire / August 14, 2025 / Fanfix, one of the fastest-growing platforms in the creator economy, announced today the acquisition of Sunroom, a women-founded and women-led creator app built to empower women and non-binary creators. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2022 by former Hinge and Bumble executives Lucy Mort and Michelle Battersby, Sunroom distinguished itself by prioritizing safety, inclusivity, and innovative monetization features. With more than 25,000 creators onboarded, $7M raised in venture funding, and millions in earnings paid out, Sunroom introduced patented anti-screenshot technology, in-app micro-payments, and unique creator offerings such as mentorship, voice notes, and personalized videos.
Fanfix has quickly emerged as a category leader in creator monetization. With over 15 million users worldwide and more than $200 million already paid out to creators, the company is on track to surpass $1 billion in earnings by 2027. While Fanfix first rose as a destination for digital-first creators, it has since been expanding into music, sports, and podcasts - building one of the most comprehensive ecosystems for creators across industries to grow and engage their audiences.
"When we began exploring acquisition opportunities, it was critical for us to find a partner who shares our values - a deep respect for creators, a commitment to content protection, and an understanding that joining a platform is more than a transaction, it's brand alignment - particularly when it comes to the creator economy," said Michelle Battersby, Co-Founder of Sunroom. "Fanfix embodies all of that and more. We're incredibly proud to be joining forces with a platform we truly believe is the category leader in creator monetization."
All Sunroom creators, content, and memberships will seamlessly migrate to Fanfix over the next 30 days. To ensure a smooth transition, creators will receive dedicated onboarding support, info sessions, and co-hosted welcome events hosted by both teams.
"With this transition, Sunroom creators will unlock even greater earning opportunities," said Lucy Mort, Co-Founder of Sunroom. "From advanced monetization features like customizable memberships and direct messaging, to powerful tools like scheduling and live streaming, joining Fanfix opens an exciting new chapter of growth for our community."
"From the very beginning, we've admired Sunroom's vision. Their brand, product, and ethos have left a lasting impact on the creator economy, and we're thrilled to welcome their community into the Fanfix ecosystem while continuing to collaborate with Lucy and Michelle," said Simon Pompan, Co-Founder and CEO of Fanfix.
Mort and Battersby will both continue with Fanfix in advisory roles, advocating for creators and helping to shape the platform's future.
