Jason Dagate began his journey at HTV 10 in 2008. For the past decade Jason has anchored on Bayou Time Live. Now you can catch Jason hosting Going Public segments and Bayou Time every Tuesday evening.

Jason Dagate is the First Assistant District Attorney for the 32nd Judicial District, Terrebonne Parish. He is married to Erin Terracina Dagate, and they are blessed with two wonderful children.
He is a 1999 graduate of Vandebilt Catholic High School and serves on the school’s advisory council. Jason graduated from Nicholls State University in 2003 with a degree in Business Management and was inducted into the Nicholls State University Hall of Fame that same year.

He earned his Juris Doctorate from the Southern University Law Center in 2006 graduating Cum Lade, and he immediately passed the bar exam. He was admitted to the practice of law in 2006, and began his legal career practicing with his father, Jimmy Dagate, handling civil litigation and representing public bodies. Upon admission to the bar, he was also hired as an Assistant District Attorney by District Attorney Joseph L. Waitz, Jr. His duties have included prosecution of cases ranging from misdemeanors to murder. In addition to prosecuting the most serious criminal offenders, he has served as the Drug Court Prosecutor for the 32nd JD, Chief of Trials, and the Director of the District Attorney’s Project LEAD Program. In 2013 he was elected to serve as the Region 7 Representative to the Louisiana District Attorney’s Association ADA Board of Directors, and now serves as Vice President. In 2016 he was promoted to First Assistant District Attorney in Terrebonne Parish.

He enjoys helping his community and participates in civic, non-profit, and professional organizations. Jason loves spending time with his family and is an avid outdoorsman and sports fan.
