Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said that on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, at approx. 4:30 p.m. Terrebonne Parish deputies responded to the 100 block of Wayne Ave. Houma, La. in reference to a man being beaten and robbed.
Upon arrival at this location deputies learned that the suspect(s) had already fled the scene. The victim who is a 28 year old Houma man was bleeding profusely from an open wound to the top of his head. Acadian Ambulance Personnel treated the victim on scene before transporting him to Terrebonne General Hospital. He received medical attention at the hospital and released later on this same evening.
Deputies obtained information that the victim was walking on Wayne Ave. when he was approached by two men. The victim was beaten with an unknown weapon and during this altercation the victim’s wallet was stolen. Both men then fled the scene. TPSO deputies patrolled the area but were unable to locate either suspect. The victim knew the suspect by his name.
Then, on Thursday morning, Dec. 27, 2018, TPSO deputies located the one of suspect, Joshua Roberts, at his girlfriend’s apartment, 1300 Laban Ave. Apt. 15 Houma, La. Roberts was taken into custody without incident and the victim’s wallet was recovered.
Joshua Austin Roberts, w/m, age 24, 322 Glenhill Dr. Houma, La. was arrested for armed robbery. Roberts remains in the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex awaiting a bond hearing.
