Thibodaux Chief of Police Bryan Zeringue announced the arrest of Brandon Francis (B/M, 40), of Thibodaux, LA for Resisting an Officer, Simple Burglary (2-Counts) Felony, Unauthorized Entry of a Place of Business (Felony) and Two Outstanding Arrest Warrants.

On Sunday, March 17th, 2019, shortly before 3:00 a.m., Thibodaux Police Officers responded to a report of a subject being seen inside the security fence, located at a business in the 1700 block of Canal Boulevard.

Upon officers arriving on scene, a perimeter was set up around the business. As officers made entry into the secured fenced area, the suspect later identified as Brandon Francis, was located inside a vehicle. Mr. Francis was ordered out the vehicle. Mr. Francis who initially refused to show his hands exited the vehicle, but fled from police on foot. Mr. Francis was tased by police and taken into custody.

The investigation revealed that Mr. Francis had unlawfully entered the secured fence and began sorting through vehicles on the premises. Mr. Francis was found to be in possession of gloves, bandanna and a wallet. The wallet possessing personal belongings of a different subject was learned to have been taken from one of the vehicles Mr. Francis had burglarized. It was also learned that Mr. Francis had an active Felony Theft Warrant through Thibodaux City Court (No Bond), as well as a probation hold for Armed Robbery, Simple Kidnapping and Distribution of Cocaine (No Bond).

Mr. Francis was transported to the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex, where he remains on a $35,500.00 bond and a no bond hold on the two warrants.
