March 22, 2019 (Update)


            Terrebonne Parish detectives arrested Troy Lee Naquin for sexual battery on January 18, 2018 and during the investigation Naquin’s DNA was obtained. Naquin’s DNA was submitted to Louisiana State Police Crime Lab as this investigation continued. 

            Then, in February of 2019 TPSO detectives received notification from La. State Police Crime Lab that the DNA of Troy Naquin returned as a match from a 1991 rape case that was reported to TPSO. Through this investigation detectives located the rape victim from the 1991 case. This victim was interviewed and she confirmed that she was in fact raped in May of 1991 which was reported at the time that it occurred. The victim did not know the suspect and there was no one arrested in connection with this investigation at the time.

             After further investigation TPSO detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the arrest of Troy Lee Naquin, age 49, 300 Island Rd. Montegut, La.  

            On Thursday, March 21, 2019, Naquin was arrested for First degree rape and False Imprisonment. He remains in the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex without bond. At the time of this arrest Naquin was incarcerated awaiting trial for the 2018 arrest.

January 19, 2018 (Previously)

            Sheriff Larpenter said that on Jan. 18, 2018, Thursday evening, Terrebonne Parish detectives responded to a local hospital regarding a complaint of a female being sexually assaulted.           

            Upon arrival at the hospital TPSO detectives made contact with the 49 year old female. She informed detectives that she is a nurse and was attacked by a patient at his residence during a home visit in Montegut, La. The suspect was identified as Troy Lee Naquin w/m, age 48, 300 Island Rd. Montegut, La.

            The nurse advised Naquin was in the residence alone while she was there for a home visit. She stated while there performing her duties Naquin attacked her and attempted to take off her clothing. The victim was inappropriately touched and sustained multiple bruises on her body while struggling with Naquin. The victim cell phone was taken by Naquin and later recovered by detectives.    

            TPSO detectives arrested Troy Lee Naquin for sexual battery and he remains in the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on a $75,000.00 bond. This case remains under investigation and more charges are subject to follow.
