Domestic Battery Suspect Arrested

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy, Col. Terry Daigre, said that on Monday, March 25, 2019, at approx. 8:50 a.m. TPSO deputies responded to the 100 block of Mozart Dr. in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival at this location deputies made contact with the 24 year old female victim. According to the initial report the two were sitting in a vehicle outside of the victim’s residence when they got into a verbal altercation. During the argument the suspect, Deonta Ward, grabbed the victim’s hair and pulled it from her scalp. After a brief struggle the victim managed to get away from Ward. She ran into her residence and locked the door. Ward chased the victim and he kicked in the front door to gain entry to the residence and the physical altercation continued. The victim attempted to spray Ward with Mace (pepper spray) to defend herself but he knocked it from her hand and it broke. Ward then left the residence before deputies arrived.
Then, at approx. 10:00 a.m. Ward was located and arrested. Deonta Christopher Ward, age 26, 300 Prince Collins St. Houma, La. was arrested for battery of a dating partner and home invasion. Ward remains in the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on a $50,000.00 bond.
