SUBJECT:      TRAFFIC / DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – CHANCE LEE JOHNSON

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Chance Lee Johnson, 39, of 508 Canal Street, Napoleonville, LA, on traffic and drug law violations following a Friday afternoon traffic stop near Napoleonville.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle near Napoleonville whose driver was not utilizing a seat belt.  The deputy executed a traffic stop and identified the driver as Chance Lee Johnson.  The suspect had no valid Louisiana driver’s license and no insurance security document.

Deputies noted an odor of suspected marijuana.  Deputies obtained authorization to search the vehicle and then made a decision to tow the vehicle.  As is procedure, deputies conducted an inventory of the vehicle and did seize a quantity of synthetic cannabinoids and doses of the drug, Suboxone.

Chance Lee Johnson was arrested and booked on charges of:

            *No Seatbelt

            *No Insurance

            *Driving Under Suspension

            *Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids

            *Possession of Suboxone

Johnson was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
