Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy, Col. Terry Daigre, said that on April 1, 2019, Monday morning at approx. 1:00 a.m. a uniform patrol deputy was patrolling in the Lisa Park Subdivision when he observed a vehicle run (disobeyed) the stop sign at the intersection of Alma St. and Cascade Dr.
The deputy then activated his emergency lights and sirens in order to conduct a traffic stop. The suspect accelerated and ran several more stop signs on Alma St. as he attempted to evade the deputy. During the chase the deputy observed the driver’s door of the suspect vehicle open and a clear plastic bag was thrown from the vehicle. The suspect quickly turned into the back parking lot of Quail Court Apartments where the suspect jumped out and ran away while the vehicle was still moving forward. The suspect vehicle crashed into a fence that is in the rear of a residence in the 100 block Woodburn Dr. The suspect vehicle was a 2009 white in color Chevrolet Impala. This vehicle was later towed from the scene.
The suspect ran through the property of Quail Court Apartments where deputies pursued him. He was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was identified as Michael Quidale Lewis, b/m, age 20, 1314 High St. Houma, La.
After further investigation deputies located and recovered the clear plastic that the suspect threw from the vehicle. The bag contained 3.34 grams of Marijuana (Street value $20). During the search of the suspect vehicle deputies recovered a small amount of Marijuana along with a digital scale.
Michael Quidale Lewis was arrested for Stop sign violations, Aggravated flight from an officer, Obstruction of Justice, Hit and run, resisting an officer, Possession with the intent to distribute Marijuana and Possession of drug paraphernalia. Lewis remains in the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on a $25,000.00 bond.
