LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Beatrice M. Clark, 31, of 512 Cypress Street, Thibodaux, LA, in connection with an incident on Thursday near Labadieville, LA.
The Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint in reference to an adult and three children were in a boat that had just been stolen and were in distress.
Upon investigating, it was determined that the boat’s occupants had crossed the bayou and made it onto the opposite bank. At the time, weather conditions were unfavorable and created undue risk to the woman and three children.
Once across the bayou, a good Samaritan family provided care to the family while the investigation was ongoing.
Investigators questioned Clark, but became suspicious of her activity after listening to her responses. Clark indicated that she was running from someone who was trying to take her children.
Investigators contacted state DCFS officials and learned that agents had secured orders to take custody of the three children.
Beatrice Clark was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Cruelty to Juveniles (3 Counts)
*Contributing to the Delinquency of Juveniles (3 Counts)
*Possession of Marijuana
*Possession of controlled Dangerous Substances in the Presence of Juveniles
