”BIG MIKE” FESI MAKES IT OFFICIAL

Respected community leader, businessman formally announces state senate bid

Houma, La. (April 25, 2019)— Houma businessman and community leader Michael “Big Mike” Fesi, Sr. today officially announced his campaign for the District 20 seat of the Louisiana State Senate.

Fesi, who has spent many months meeting with prominent local community, business and trade organizations, has built a strong, winning coalition to ensure he is ready to successfully lead on day one of taking office.

A common sense conservative and dedicated family man, Fesi is the founder and chairman of Pipeline Construction & Maintenance, Inc. (PCM), a nationally renowned oil and gas industry service company, which has operated out of Houma for more than 20 years and created hundreds of jobs.

“I have proven track records of creating economic opportunity and jobs in our area,” stated Fesi. “I’m a problem solver, not a career politician. I care deeply about the future of our community.”

In 2015, in his first-ever run for State Senate, Fesi ran an impressive campaign challenging now-term-limited Sen. Norby Chabert. The election was one of the most closely watched in the state, as Fesi built a strong ground game and ran a well-funded campaign.

Fesi said he is excited to run again, stating, “The encouragement from the community has been overwhelming and humbling. I’m officially announcing my campaign, because I’m on a mission to improve the direction of our state. I saw the potential of our community last time and believe now, more than ever, that we can unify our parishes to bring about the reforms we so desperately need.”

Fesi’s motto “Big Mike Cares” goes to the heart of who he is. Fesi does not limit his involvement in the region to politics and his business operations at PCM. For years, he’s given back to the community, including serving weekly lunches to veterans at The Regional Military Museum, donating to cancer patients for the holidays, Christmas bike giveaways and providing volunteer and financial support to young people in need at MacDonell Children’s Services.

“Big Mike’s generosity has helped us significantly improve our programming and continues to bring joy to countless children in our area,” said Kathy Canter, with MacDonell Children’s Center. “We appreciate everything he continues to do for our organization, and we know he will bring the same level of care and thoughtfulness to the Capitol.”

Fesi, an avid entrepreneur and Houma native who shares the conservative values of District 20 constituents, brings a variety of political knowledge and experience at both the state and national levels. In 2016, he was selected as an at-large delegate to the Republican National Convention, supporting now-President Donald Trump. He is also a member of the Republican State Central Committee, representing District 20. Fesi is an advocate for pro-life causes and is a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

Recently, Fesi hired Louisiana-based Innovative Politics to oversee the campaign. Innovative Politics is one of the most respected and experienced GOP political firms in the country. It’s well known for its campaign and issue advocacy work around Louisiana and, most notably, served as a media advisor for President Trump’s winning campaign, producing nearly half of the campaign’s nationally television ads.

“Big Mike is an impressive candidate. He’s an outsider, a proven job creator, yet he also knows how to win,” said Jay Connaughton, managing partner of Innovative Politics. “Big Mike’s earned broad and tremendous support across the region, already raising money from hundreds of people and building an impressive fundraising total of more than $215,000 committed.  Not only that, he’s a man of the people who is as comfortable in a board room as he is in a local church or community center.”
