Disturbance led police to three firearms

Thibodaux Chief of Police Bryan Zeringue announced that multiple arrests have been made in connection with a disturbance that led to the recovery of three firearms.
- Tre’Vaughan Franklin (22, B/M, of Thibodaux, LA) is charged with Disturbing the Peace, Possession of a Firearm With Obliterated Serial Number & Two Outstanding Drug Warrants. Bond Amount $35,250.00.
- Jeffery Gunner (33, B/M, of Thibodaux, LA) is charged with Disturbing the Peace & Possession of a Firearm With Obliterated Serial Number. Bound Amount $5,250.00.
- Janea Young (32, B/F, of Thibodaux, LA) is charged with Disturbing the Peace & Possession of a Firearm With Obliterated Serial Number. Bound Amount $ 5,250.00.
On Thursday, June 13th 2019, shortly before 9:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 1700 block of S. Barbier Avenue. Upon arrival, it was learned that Tre’Vaughan Franklin, Jeffery Gunner and Janea Young were all involved in disturbance, where another party was threatened with a gun. Further investigation revealed that all three subjects were in a vehicle, where three firearms were recovered by police. One of the firearms recovered had an obliterated serial number, which prevented the weapon from being checked through the National Crime Information Center. All firearms were seized during the incident, after no one claiming ownership to any of the weapons.
All three subjects were arrested and charged accordingly. All were transported to the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex, where Mr. Franklin and Mr. Gunner remain. Ms. Young later posted bond.
Mr. Franklin was also charged with two outstanding Drug Warrants for his arrest through the 17th JDC (Bond Amount $30,000.00).
