Attempted murder suspect wanted

Terrebonne Parish Chief Criminal Deputy, Colonel Terry Daigre, said that on Friday night, June 21, 2019, after 9:00 p.m. TPSO deputies responded to a shooting the occurred in the parking lot of the Landing Apartments, 1803 Martin Luther King Blvd. Houma.
Deputies arrived at this location and spoke with witnesses who heard a gunshot but the victim nor the suspect was located at this time. There was a bullet casing recovered at the scene of the shooting.
There shortly afterwards, TPSO Headquarters received a call of a gunshot victim who arrived at a local hospital. Deputies and detectives responded to the hospital and contacted the 37 year old man who informed them that he was shot while sitting in his vehicle at the Landing Apartments. The man suffered with a gunshot wound to his stomach. The injury does not appear to be life-threatening as he remains in stable condition.
After further investigation Jalen Baker was identified as the suspect who shot the victim. Baker was allegedly at the apartments looking for his ex-girlfriend but did not find her. According to a witness, Baker confronted a male acquaintance of his ex-girlfriend and this is when the shooting occurred. After being shot the man managed to drive himself to the hospital.
TPSO detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Jalen Baker, age 25, of Houma for Attempted 2nd degree murder.
