Morrison Avenue shooting

On August 2nd, 2019 at approximately 9:40p.m. the Houma Police Department responded to the 100 Block of Morrison Avenue in reference to multiple gunshots being fired. The Police Department then received a call from a local medical facility in reference to a 31 year old male that had been shot. As the investigation continued officers learned that the victim was traveling on Morrison Avenue from Hollywood Blvd towards Park Avenue when an unknown suspect in an unknown vehicle started firing shots at his vehicle. After the shots were fired he felt that he had been shot and drove himself to the hospital for treatment.
The injuries to the victim were not life threatening and he has been treated and released.
At this point in time there has not been a suspect identified and a motive has not been established in the shooting and anyone with information can contact the Houma Police Department at 985-873-6371.
